The Intercontinental Bali in Jimbaran is located not too far from the international airport in Denpasar and the Benoa Port if you are taking a cruise.
We booked an ocean view Club room which gave us access to an exclusive check-in area, pool and Club lounge. By prepaying the rate, you save quite a few dollars. The best part about the Club International room is that full breakfast is included in the rate. You can have breakfast in the lounge or at the other restaurants on the property. The other added bonus was that from 4:30-7:30 each evening, cocktails and canapés are served in the lounge gratis for the Club guests.
The room was expansive with a sitting area, working desk, a his and her bathroom sink area. A large glass shower is nestled against a deep tub.The toilet area is also separated and includes a bidet should you wish to try.
There are five restaurants to enjoy though we only dined at one during our stay. There is a Japanese, Italian and seafood restaurant. We enjoyed the Jimbaran seafood where I had the lobster and Chris had the grouper.
You can get drinks or snacks right on the beach at night at the Sunset Bar and Grill restaurant.
Monkeys play an important par in Indonesian culture. I like how he’s downing a good one!
Beautiful lounge beds can be found in many areas.
Everyday, the statues are decorated with fresh flowers.
There are plenty of comfy chairs, round wickers beds and some elevated and covered outdoor Bali beds in the Club area to relax either by the pool or the beach. The resort has 6 pools to enjoy. Some have water jets, and fountains shooting out of stone statues. You can swim from one pool to another under a bridge and under water spouting over your head. The main pool has a swim up bar to enjoy a mid afternoon cocktail.
The beach is nice and long to walk along but at times the surf is pretty strong so beware.
The grounds at the resort is lush, surprisingly quiet and full of ponds containing water lillies, fish, ducks and two water monitors who happily swim along chasing each other. It was our first time seeing these swimming lizards. At about two feet long, at first you may mistake them for small alligators which we did.
Another benefit of staying here is that it is right in Jimbaran Beach where you only need to walk a bit to find a myriad of restaurants on the beach where each evenings they set out tables on the beach where grilled seafood is grilled. Or if you like to surf or learn to surf, there are many shops and schools that cater to your needs.
The service at the Intercontinental was impeccable. Staff will continually ask if you require food or drink or if they can enhance your stay even more.
By booking the Club room, we already had a late checkout of 2pm. However, we had learned from our travel agent that our ship’s boarding had been delayed so we asked for a checkout of 4pm which was granted with no issues and no extra cost.
Our experience at the Beach Intercontinental Bali was 5 stars.
